Micros Retail Implementation Consultant (functional & configuration) – London based

Micros Retail Implementation Consultant is responsible for analysing customer needs and configuring solutions Retail solutions based on Micros Suite, now part of Oracle Retail.

Product knowledge based around the following;

  • Micros RELATE CRM – ORCE, Oracle Retail Customer Engagement
  • Micros Retail LOCATE – OROB, Oracle Retail Order Broker
  • Micros CWSerenade- OROMS, Oracle Retail Order Management System
  • XStore – Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Service
  • Micros Open Commerce Platform, Oracle Retail OCP

Responsibilities:

  • Regularly assist in the definition of project objectives, scope, organization, timelines, and overall approach
  • Responsible for configuring the solution and installing customer solutions across the Micros suite
  • Ensure the solution meets the specification and functions of the customer requirements
  • Collaborate with  the functional team consistent with this Project Charter and the Project Plan
  • Constantly act as a contact for the system functionality advice and provide coaching to the client
  • Frequently define the system configuration requirements, identify gaps and recommend system modifications and process changes to optimally satisfy business requirements using the Oracle Retail suite of applications.
  • Escalate project issues that cannot be resolved within his/her sphere of influence and/or authority to the Project Manager as needed
  • Regularly assist with the development of strategy and plan the work required by the Micros Team to support implementation
  • Perform go-live activities and train the client on activities
  • Constantly maintain detailed knowledge of the functional capabilities and integration points of the Micros solution
  • Assist with the documentation of ‘As Is’ business processes and the development of ‘To Be’ business
  • Ensure follow up and resolve issues arising from workshop sessions and/or related to business processes and system functionality intermittently

Essential skills:  

  • Understanding of Micros Retail solution functional concepts, integration points, and functional application knowledge
  • Demonstrable record in successful large scale package software implementation
  • Demonstrable experience in the definition of business process definition and improvement
  • Working knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of project management
  • Ability to identify and proactively solve problems for Oracle Retail clients
  • Strong client negotiation and demonstrated consulting skills
  • Understands and demonstrates financial responsibility as related to overall project budget and timelines
  • Capable of driving process improvement
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence
  • Ability to work with clients to build a sense of shared ownership and minimizes potential resistance
  • High degree of initiative, motivation and problem solving skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change in a complex global organization
  • Professional approach when dealing with internal and external customers, including clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of initiative, accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude under stressful circumstances
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with proprietary information
  • Proficient with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in a Computer Science or 3+ years of related experience
  • Previous consulting or participation in large-scale integration projects
  • 3+ years in the Retail IT industry
  • 3+ years of POS or Micros related experience
  • 3+ years of direct retail operations experience preferably across multiple retail sectors
