Head of Client Services & Delivery – retail software

Oversee the delivery of multiple successful Retail software implementations, by utilizing knowledge of the retail industry, project management and business development. A proven track record of software application delivery (including Cloud Services) and strong executive-level communication skills.

To manage client relationships and expectations while providing project governance to onsite and remote project teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Represent in pre-sales activities
  • Manage client relationships, including owning the overall client experience
  • Understand business requirements and provide thought leadership around proposed and alternative solutions
  • Identify, explore and develop new opportunities with existing clients
  • Create both high level and detailed client proposals with the Sales Team
  • Line manager for EU Project Team including Project Managers, Technical Consultants, Business Consultants and Quality Assurance teams.
  • High-level project planning and scheduling, including staffing, timeline, and budget considerations
  • Working with Project Managers, overseeing Project budgeting and forecasting with reconciliation to client invoices.
  • Oversee project scope definition and control.
    • Lead project teams to deliver successful projects, with quality delivered.
    • Advise clients on implementation approach, project phasing, and risk management strategies
    • Executive-level project status reporting
    • Ensure continuity of client experiences, including the transition from project to ongoing support
    • Assist in the definition and ongoing maintenance of project methods

Essential skill and Experience:

  • 10+ years of direct software delivery experience (retail experience preferred) with a track record of delivery
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous history of working directly with client executive teams
  • Understanding of Retail Omni functional concepts and integration points
  • Demonstrable track record in successful project and team management, comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of project management.
  • Fully capable of managing large projects and by implication, leading multiple project teams when necessary

  • Understand and demonstrates financial competence
  • Builds effective risk mitigation plans, processes, and communications
  • Able to drive process improvement across the entire project management group
  • The high degree of initiative, motivation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with clients to build a sense of shared ownership and minimizes potential resistance
  • Excellent planning, forecasting and organizational skills
  • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
  • Ability to develop proposals for clients and plans for large package software projects
  • Retail systems experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, information technology
  • 10+ years in the Retail industry or an associated Retail IT field
