Agile Software Release Manager

Release Manager / Co-ordinator (SaaS / Cloud solution) – Reading, Berkshire

Leading SaaS / Cloud based software vendor looking for experienced Agile Software Release Manager / Co-ordinator to manage product release management process with overall responsibility for release scheduling, tracking and control.

The role

  • Plan for, communicate, and execute software releases to production environment at the end of our Sprints
  • Write and/or update documentation related to software releases (Build Plans, Implementation Plans, As-Built Documents, etc.)
  • Keep project leadership apprised of Sprint and Release progress, and identify risks and issues
    • Ensure coordination of build and test environments teams and release teams
    • Ensure release package acceptance including business sign off
      • Liaise with Programme Delivery/Scrum Masters to manage service roll out planning including method of deployment
      • Co-ordinate release package testing to predefined acceptance criteria
      • Audit software before and after the implementation of release package changes
      • Ensure unit tests are folded into every sprint for new and existing features
      • Work closely with the QA team to ensure test coverage is complete on any new features before release.
      • Coordinate release notes and scheduled maintenance broadcasts.
      • Own and improve development documentation on confluence and bit bucket wikis
      • Organize and facilitate regular scrum meetings including daily stand-ups, sprint and release planning sessions, retrospectives, demonstrations, and other project planning and issue resolution meetings as required.
      • Work closely with the Development Lead on forecasting activities and team planning.
      • Ensure resource availability to meet sprint demands arranging cover when needed and develop the team members in line with the needs of the service delivery requirements.
      • Maintain transparency on team progress through burn down charts, velocity reporting and sprint and release progress.
      • Support teams in effective use in ongoing adoption of agile principles and practices.
      • Proactive reporting of risks, blockers, and team progress.
      • Facilitating discussion and conflict resolution.
      • Help operations/delivery team to build competency and continuous improvement
      • Recommending changes to our existing processes.
